Students Explore Middle Eastern and Francophone Cuisine and Culture on Montreal Trip
On Friday, October 4th, students from Gisele El Khoury’s "Cook, Eat, Tell – Food in the Arab World and the Middle East" class and Elementary Arabic, along with Dr. Eloise Brezault’s French 103 class students, visited Montreal. The trip included a stop at a Lebanese food store, where students had the opportunity to explore and learn about traditional ingredients and culinary practices. This was followed by a delicious Arabic lunch, offering a taste of the region’s rich culinary heritage. The visit concluded with a tour of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, where students could appreciate cultural connections through art. The experience was made possible by a Short-Term Travel grant from the Center for International and Intercultural Studies (CIIS), which provided invaluable support for this immersive educational opportunity.
