Michael Paulino ’20 | New York, New York
Michael Paulino ’20 traces his communications career to his undergraduate career as a HEOP (Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program) student at St. Lawrence. The New York City native worked as a staff writer for The Hill News and tutor at the Word Studio before spending a summer as a radio journalism intern at North Country Public Radio. Paulino then secured a much-coveted internship with National Public Radio’s Code Switch program in Washington, D.C., and returned to campus as a member of the University Communications’ student marketing team. Following graduation, he joined the CBS News team as a news associate. After only 10 months of working with “CBS Sunday Morning,” Paulino was promoted to broadcast associate for “CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell.” Paulino continues his connection to St. Lawrence as a SLU Connect–NYC volunteer, sharing his experiences with the next generation of Laurentians.

Rutendo R. Chabikwa ’17 | Harare, Zimbabwe
Rutendo R. Chabikwa ’17 is a D.Phil. Candidate at the University of Oxford’s Internet Institute studying the effects of digital media on political participation in postcolonial contexts. While working on her doctoral research, Chabikwa founded Tedoex House Media, which creates podcasts and auditory documentaries that center on marginalized voices. Tedoex’s mission is to create a more connected world through harnessing digital media by partnering with organizations, institutions, and individuals whose work shapes a better, more connected, and more informed world. Delaney Yates ’21 | Toledo, Ohio
Delaney Yates ’21 is the creator and manager of a viral TikTok cooking account @yessidothecooking, which currently has more than 102,000 followers and over 8.5 million likes. Yates and her sister Shelby have expanded the cooking content to other platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and Amazon Live. The duo has more recently gone on the road, highlighting recent excursions to Costa Rica and Italy and documenting the flavors that come with every destination. The Yates sisters maximize their media outreach with each video while helping new cooks and experienced gourmets gain confidence in the kitchen and embrace global cuisine.
Director of Paid Media, Influencer Relations & Community Management at Team GO Ventures / Founder at On My Team16
Jordan Sheridan Zapisek ’17 Fayetteville, New York
At Team GO for nearly a year and a half, Zapisek took on the role of director of Paid Media, Influencer Relations & Community Management for the marketing agency based out of California. Zapisek works with multiple Fortune 500 brands on their daily digital marketing and PR initiatives. In 2017, she founded On My Team16, a nonprofit organization dedicated to comforting and supporting pediatric oncology patients, families, and caregivers by raising money through athletics. OMT16’s goal is to ensure that every child impacted by cancer feels like they are a part of something bigger and gets the care and treatment they deserve. “They are on OUR team, and together WE are all fighting their battle,” Zapisek says.
