Student Policies:
- Matriculated sophomore, junior, and senior students are eligible to apply for SLU Connect programs taking place in October, January, and March.
- Matriculated first year, sophomore, junior, and senior students are eligible to apply for the SLU Connect program taking place in May.
- The selection committee may consider applications from matriculated graduate students only after assessing applications from current matriculated undergraduate students; these applications will only be considered if the program is not at capacity
- Students may apply for more than one program, but the selection process is competitive. Priority will be given to qualified students who have not already participated in a program. Students should consider which program(s) best align with their career/future interests when applying.
- Students may apply for a program more than once but may not participate in the same program more than once.
- Students are selected based on the strength of their application in comparison to the overall applicant pool for each program.
- Students who are accepted to SLU Connect programs are required to upload their resume to VMock and secure a score of 75 or higher before the no-penalty withdrawal date or risk losing their spot to a student on the wait list. Students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with a career coach to review and refine their resume prior to leaving on the program.
- Students may request financial assistance for each program to which they apply. Demonstrated financial need is based on FAFSA information and the student’s written request. Awards of financial assistance will be based on the strength of the application and written request, demonstrated need, and amount of aid available per program.
- Students having received financial assistance for one program may request assistance for another, however the request will receive lower priority and only be reviewed after first time participant requests.
- Students must write a thank you note for any financial assistance they receive and will work with the Center for Career Excellence staff on this process.
- Students participating in a SLU Connect program are required to stay at the chosen hotel and attend all aspects of the program.
