CM Application Form
Eligibility
- Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
- 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA (at least a 2.75 GPA for rising sophomores)
- Good social standing with the University
Please Note:
- Applicants are not required to have taken a CBL course to apply; however, should have experience working with local community partners in the North Country or their home communities, and can demonstrate a high level of commitment to community initiatives.
- CMs are hired for an entire academic year. Any student planning to study abroad in fall and/or spring should still apply during regular recruitment to secure a spot within the program.
Required Application Materials
- Application Form (Application Deadline: March 28, 2025)
- Cover Letter (no more than 250 words): Describe your leadership philosophy and style. Describe how your community engagement experiences make you an ideal Community Mentor candidate. Also, please speak to your ability to fulfill key duties: maintain and nurture campus-community partnerships; guide and oversee CBL experience for peers; maintain open communication between all CBL constituents including community partners, faculty and staff, CBL students, and CBL staff; and promote a campus culture of engagement.
- Current (unofficial) Transcript: A copy of your unofficial transcript must be included. Please download from APR. Do not upload a screen shot.

- Recommendation Form: Please forward the Recommendation Form to the following constituents:
