MINUTES OF ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY SAFETY COMMITTEE/

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CAMPUS SECURITY HELD VIA ZOOM

ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2023 STARTING AT 800 A.M.

 Present::    Nick Ormasen, Co-Chair, Susan Johnson, Secretary, Kasarian Dane, Traci Grainger, Bob Hance, Jim Kozsan, Dean Manley, Stacie Olney-LaPierre, Suna Stone, Mary Charleston, Tara Tent, Stacy Vassar, Marsha Sawyer, Marcus Sherburne, and Alana Belkevich

New Business:

• Can the shrubs along the sidewalk from the Newell circle to Appleton be cut back? They are encroaching on the sidewalk making it hard for people to walk on (there were 2 emails about this). Marcus will do what he can; shrubs have been trimmed up in the past.

E-bikes

• Update on E-bikes – nothing new. Next steps will be deciding where charging stations will go and if the cost amount is high enough to require a capital request.

Dean will get estimated costs to submit to the Student Life Division for review and to find an appropriate funding source.

Future Meetings:

The meetings will continue to be the first Friday of the month from 8:00-9:00 a.m.  Future meetings: 2/2/2024, 3/1/2024, 4/5/2024, 5/3/2024, and 6/7/2024. Meetings will be conducted via Zoom.
