MINUTES OF ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY SAFETY COMMITTEE HELD VIA ZOOM
ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2022 STARTING AT 8:00 AM.

Approval of the Minutes Passed
New Business:
- Parking in front/back/next to garbage dumpsters –Nick and Pat will visit the site with Facilities and Dining Services management to evaluate possible solutions. CLOSED.
- “Information as to the fire alarms at Augsbury/Newell. Alarms are difficult to reset and are not working as they should be; what is the issue is and can it be resolved. At this point, we sort of assume a fire alarm is just the system acting up” – there are two panels dependent on each other when the alarm is tripped for testing and during this specific instance, there was a bad switch that needed to be replaced to silence the testing. We will work more on notifying staff in the building when testing will be taking place. CLOSED.
Old Business:
- NYS Fire Fall Inspection Update: The first round of inspections were completed on 11/3/2022. Round two of State Fire inspections will begin the week of December 12th and last three to four days. Academic building inspections will occur in late January early February. CLOSED.
Future Meetings:
The next Meeting will be February 3, 2023 @ 8:00-9:00 a.m.: Future meetings: 3/3/2023, 4/7/2023 and 5/5/2023. Meetings will be conducted via Zoom until a location can be determined.
