Key Requests
To protect building occupants, property and related equipment, all students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors working for the University must follow the stated process and rules related to obtaining and using keys for all University owned, leased, or otherwise occupied areas.
Key Requests:
All key requests are made using the Key Request Form. Before submitting the form you must have permission of the appropriate department chair, dean, director or advisor.
Key Pick Up:
Issued keys may be picked up at the Facilities Operations office Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 4:00, unless special arrangements are made in advance to pick up keys at a different location. Keys will not be sent via campus mail.
Keys for faculty and staff housing must be picked up at the office of Community and Employee Relations, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:00, unless special arrangements are made in advance to pick up keys at a different location. Occupants must sign for each key picked up.
Key Turn In:
Upon separation of employment and/or student status, all keys must be immediately returned to Facilities Operations. The employee may have their final paycheck withheld if they do not return their key(s) prior to leaving the University.
Missing Keys:
If keys are lost, the occupant must notify Facilities Operations immediately.
Duplication:
All keys are the property of St. Lawrence University and are not to be duplicated by anyone other than the Facilities Operations department. Duplication of a key, or the possession of an unauthorized duplicate, may result in appropriate disciplinary action.
