The St. Lawrence University Geology Alumni Conference is a unique conference held at SLU every 3 years. The idea for the conference came from a group of alumni as a way to share with information directly with students. The information comes in all forms and topics including telling students about the various career opportunities in the field of geology; filling students in on things they “wished they had known” as students; networking; talking about graduate school; careers outside of geology where a geology degree is “surprisingly” beneficial, and many other things.

It all boils down to “Here’s what I did with my BS in geology and here is how I got there.” It allows the students to meet and talk to a wide array of people who have been exactly where they are now and to see where it took them.
