Data Science 4+1 with University of San Francisco
The Data Science 4+1 program is an agreement between St. Lawrence University (SLU) and the University of San Francisco (USF) wherein qualified students can pursue a one-year Master of Science in Data science (MSDS) through USF after completion of their SLU degree. Under this agreement USF will do the following for qualified graduates from SLU:
- give priority admission,
- waive the application fee,
- waive the GRE requirement,
- and offer a minimum of a four-unit scholarship in recognition of the preparation offered at St. Lawrence University before arrival.
To qualify SLU students must:
- submit a formal application to the MSDS program,
- complete the list of required courses (see below),
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the required courses,
- provide a recommendation by a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics at SLU,
- and pass an interview with the Director of the MSDS program at USF.

- Mathematics 217 (Linear Algebra)
Statistics:
- 113 (Applied Statistics)
- 213 (Applied Regression Analysis)
Computer Science:
- 140 (Introduction to Computer Science)
- 219 (Techniques of Computer Science)
- 256 (Data Structures)
Mathematics/Computer Science:
- One mathematics/computer science course at the 3xx/4xx level
