UAT Workshop 2014
The seventh NSF-sponsored Undergraduate ALFALFA Workshop was held at the Arecibo Observatory on January 12 - 15, 2014. The Workshop is part of the NSF-sponsored Undergraduate ALFALFA Team program to promote undergraduate research within the ALFALFA project. Attendees are given tours of the telescope, and operate it during observing runs. The Workshop was attended by 20 students and their faculty mentors from 16 undergraduate institutions. Bryan Geiger '16 attended with SLU astronomers Dr. Aileen O'Donoghue and Jeffrey Miller. Bryan attended the talks, worked in and presented the results of group projects, and had a chance to run the controls of the largest single dish radio telescope in the world.
