UAT Workshop 2019
Astronomer Jeffrey Miller attended the 12th annual 2019 Undergraduate ALFALFA Team Workshop, from June 18 - 22 at the Green Bank Observatory in West Virginia. The observatory is home to the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope, the largest fully steerable radio telescope in the world. Also in attendance was Evan Smith '16, who has finished his second year in the physics Ph.D. program at West Virginia University. Observing was not possible because the telescope was temporarily out of commission, but they still had the chance to take a tour throughout the structure. They did have the opportunity to work with students and faculty from 10 other academic institutions, studying the properties of galaxies in the Pisces-Perseus Supercluster.
