On behalf of the St. Lawrence University Security Officer Academy, I am both proud and pleased to announce our 18th Annual Security Officer Academy, June 17-21, 2024.
We began our academy in June 2006 with plans to offer affordable, in-depth training for colleges and universities on topics relative to University Safety & Security departmental operations.
Top-quality instruction is provided by federal, state, county and/or local law enforcement, counseling, fire safety, administrative, academic and community outreach professionals. The instructors are highly skilled individuals with years of experience in their fields.
Areas of instruction include but are not limited to effective communication, NYS Security Guard Courses, Clery Act, Title IX, basic investigations, CPR/AED, defensive tactics, active shooter responses, bomb recognition, fire safety, dating/domestic violence, sexual assaults, stalking, cultural diversity and drug recognition.
The cost of the academy is $350.00 per attendee. Housing accommodations can be arranged on campus for $30.00 per night with linen included. Our dining hall will provide lunch at $10.00 per day; breakfast and dinner are on your own at area restaurants.
The deadline to register is May 24, 2024. We look forward to training your Safety & Security staff at our academy. I truly believe that it represents the finest security training in the area.
