University Communications
The work of University Communications embodies the Laurentian spirit and pride as we celebrate and raise awareness of the enduring value of the St. Lawrence experience.
The University Communications division supports four key goals and objectives:
- Increase our national visibility, enhance our academic reputation, and manage the institutional brand.
- Develop communications and marketing strategies to help recruit an academically talented and diverse student body.
- Develop communications and marketing strategies to help to build connections with Laurentians to support fundraising and engagement efforts.
- Develop strategies and plans to support institutional goals and initiatives.
University Communications also includes Office Services and North Country Public Radio.
How Do I?
The St. Lawrence University website is built on the Drupal content management system. Individuals who need to maintain content for their department/program website(s) are required to take a training class before being given access to the website.
If you need assistance with creating and/or editing existing content on the website, you can refer to our Website Management Resources or contact Associate Director of Digital Strategy Jessica Kennedy.
Our Visual and Creative Strategy team oversees all official University publications and can help with a variety of projects.
To initiate a project, start by completing a Creative Request Form
Our team will build a timeline for production and printing and work with you throughout the process to get you a great piece on time and within your budget. Good things come with planning – please expect 6-8 weeks for content production, design, proofing, printing and mailing.
What if I already have a poster, I just want to get it printed?
Our team in Offices Services can help. Just fill out a print request form.
We love to learn about the accomplishments of our community! To share news items about your department, students, faculty, staff, and alumni, please complete the University Communications content request form.
Visit the online order page at Dupli Graphics to place your order of branded materials. Please note, custom orders are not allowed.
While individual departments are still responsible for adding public campus events to the University’s Events Calendar, University Communications assists with broader promotion beyond the campus community. Please let our team know about your public campus event at least two weeks in advance to ensure enough time for distribution to local and regional media.
To publicize information to students, the SLUdent Life Portal (https://stlawu.presence.io/) serves as the primary medium of communication between the campus community and the student body.
In order to submit an event or an announcement, you need login to https://stlawu.presence.io/ with your St. Lawrence network ID and password. Before you submit, you have the option to preview and edit.
If you have any questions, please contact Student Activities and Leadership at 315-229-5757 or studentactivities@stlawu.edu.
If you are a member of the media and would like to speak to either an official spokesperson for the University or a member of our faculty/staff, please contact Kim Asch, Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing and Content Strategy, at kasch@stlawu.edu.
St. Lawrence University’s licensing program is a critical component of the University’s overall branding efforts. The program helps protect, promote, and support the St. Lawrence’s reputation and image as one of the top liberal arts universities in the country.
Any vendor or crafter creating apparel and merchandise bearing St. Lawrence’s protected name and/or marks, whether for on-campus departments, student organizations, or for third-party vendors to sell online or in-store, must be approved as an official licensee.
For more information, contact Adam Gordon, Assistant Director of Visual & Creative Strategy, at agordon@stlawu.edu.
