Michael Gagliardi

Mike Gagliardi ’21 joined the University Communications team in November of 2024. A proud St. Lawrence alum, he double-majored in philosophy and history with a minor in English.
After graduation, Mike’s love for telling stories led him to become a reporter for the Watertown Daily Times, where he covered politics, business, culture, and restaurants in St. Lawrence County. Mike then moved to Washington, D.C., to work for NBC News, conducting research for national political stories and the MSNBC programming slate. After he was promoted to the NBC News National Network Desk in New York City, he wrote national breaking news stories on a variety of topics and penned enterprising, investigative pieces focused on urbanism, and in particular how car-dependence harms people and communities. He also spearheaded news-gathering efforts for NBC News NOW Daily and MSNBC broadcast programming.
Mike’s desire to broaden his communications experience in a marketing context, as well as his love for his hometown and alma mater, compelled him to return to St. Lawrence, where he serves as a content and media relations strategist.
