Nate Trachte

Assistant Director of the Adirondack Semester Outdoor Studies
Nate Trachte

Nate grew up in the Ausable River Watershed, where some of his earliest memories are catching crayfish near Heart Lake in the High Peaks Wilderness. An avid backcountry skier, hiker, mountain biker, paddler, and lover of adventure, Nate spends his time outside whenever possible. He loves inspiring others to get out into wild spaces and make connections to their local environment in hopes of emboldening the next generation of environmental stewards. In 2017, Nate earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Fort Lewis College. In 2019, he completed his Master’s in Education with a focus in environmental education from Western Washington University and North Cascades Institute. Before joining The Adirondack Semester, he worked as a coordinator for Lake Champlain Sea Grant's K-12 Watershed Alliance program based out of SUNY Plattsburgh. Nate has experience in expeditionary learning, place-based environmental education, and teaching ecosystem science.
