What was your favorite course you took off campus? Sustainable Development in Northern Europe
Tell us more about your off-campus study experience! I loved studying abroad because it exposed me to a new perspective on sustainability and the topics I'm studying at SLU that I would otherwise not have experienced. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes and the conversations I had with my host family that highlighted the values of Danish society and the way a welfare state operates. Since returning from study abroad, I find myself using a systems-thinking approach to my studies and life in general, which puts emphasis on the interconnectedness of society and culture.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone studying off-campus or thinking about studying off-campus? Study off-campus! While you may want to spend as much time on campus as possible, studying off-campus is one of the best things you can do to enrich your SLU experience. It may seem nerve-wracking at first, but the insight and maturity you gain from a semester in a new environment is beyond comparable and you won't regret it.
