International and Intercultural Opportunities On-Campus
Intercultural learning does not only occur off-campus; rather, CIIS collaborates with academic departments, student organizations, alumni, and other offices on-campus to internationalize the St. Lawrence University campus.
Below are a few events and opportunities that occur regularly on-campus throughout the academic year. Keep an eye out for posters around campus and events posted on the CIIS website! Do you have ideas for an event? Is your club or organization interested in collaborating on an internationally-oriented event? Reach out to CIIS!
International Education Week
Each November, CIIS partners with the International Student Services team to coordinate a weeklong celebration of global citizenship and our international student community on-campus. Events often include introductory language sessions, trivia, and poetry nights.
World Languages Week
In late March and early April, the Department of World Languages, Cultures, and Media, the Language Resource Center, and the Center for International and Intercultural Studies collaborate to celebrate language learning and exposure to different cultures. Events this week include an annual multicultural talent showcase by students, language trivia, and more. Feeling inspired to dive into another language? Attend a CIIS Information Session where you can learn about opportunities to study off-campus!
Intercultural Living/Learning Community
The Intercultural Living/Learning Community in Kirk Douglas Hall brings together students preparing for or returning from off-campus study to help them explore what it means to be a global citizen, focusing on understanding cultural differences and similarities; the historical, ecological, political, and economic processes affecting the globe; and the rights and responsibilities of each individual as a global citizen.

CIIS World Topic Series
Each semester, the Center for International and Intercultural Studies partners with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to offer an engaging speaker series on timely, global topics.
Upcoming World Topic Series will be posted as events on the CIIS website.
Information Sessions
Each semester, faculty members around campus will provide Information Sessions for students considering off-campus study or imminently preparing to depart. All Information Sessions will be publicized on the CIIS website.
