April 23rd, 2021 - June 18th, 2021:  Mock 1 Testing

A "mock" is a practice Go-Live.  A copy of our current production environment will be set up in the Ellucian managed cloud systems.  This is an opportunity for Ellucian and SLU teams to ensure that connections and functional processes are working as designed.  Limited functional testing will be needed for Mock 1.

June 18th, 2021 - February 11th, 2022: Mock 2 Testing

Functional Leads will be involved in executing business workflows in user acceptance testing at a department level. 

February 11th, 2022 - May 6th, 2022: Mock 3 Testing

IT and Functional Leads complete and validate third-party integration changes required to complete the project

May 6th, 2022 - July 22nd, 2022: Mock 4 Testing

True end-to-end business workflow processing.  This testing aims to assess if the system can support day-to-day business and user scenarios and ensure the system is ready for go-live.

Friday, July 29th, 2022 – Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022: Go-Live!

The final migration and user acceptance testing (UAT) from our on-premise data centers to the Ellucian Managed Cloud Hosting environment will occur over several days.  

The approximate schedule for our go-live events is:

  • Friday, July 29th, 2022, at 2 p.m. ET:  All on-premise Colleague systems will be shut down at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, July 29th.  
  • Friday, July 29th, 2022:  SLU IT staff will create a full backup of our on-premise Colleague production environments and transfer it to Ellucian for upload to our new cloud environment.  This will be a full copy of our existing database and code tree.   No data conversions or transformations will occur during this process.   All production data will be transferred unchanged from the current systems to the new hosted environment.  
  • Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st, 2022:  Ellucian Managed Cloud personnel completes the setup and configuration of the new hosted Colleague systems.
  • Monday, August 1st, 2022:  SLU IT personnel complete the setup and testing of various system integrations.
  • Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022:   SLU Colleague to the Cloud Functional Leads perform final User Acceptance Testing of the new live production Colleague system.
  • Wednesday morning, August 3rd, 2022:  Colleague in the Cloud will be available to the SLU community.
