Fred Exoo
Dr. Calvin (Fred) Exoo was a specialist in the politics of the mass media. His most recent book is entitled The Pen and the Sword: Press, War and Terror in the 21stCentury (2010, Sage Publishers). He is also the author of: Democracy Upside Down: Public Opinion and Cultural Hegemony in the United States and of The Politics of the Mass Media. In Spring, 2009, he was chosen “Outstanding Faculty Member” by the senior class. His commentary and articles have appeared in such publications as the New York Times, The Times (London), The Los Angeles Times, Polity, New Political Science, The Journal of Politics, and the Huffington Post. In his spare time, Fred was active in local social movements. He was originally from Wisconsin, and remained a lifelong major cheesehead – Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers fan.
Ansil Ramsay
Dr. Ansil Ramsay retired from St. Lawrence University in 2005, after 35 years of teaching in the Government Department. During that period, Dr. Ramsay served as editorial board member of the Journal of Asian Studies and of Asian Survey, and was a recipient of the J. Calvin Keene Award, the Owen D. Young Outstanding Professor Award, and the Munsil Professorship.
