    St. Lawrence Celebrates Community, Perseverance, and a Love for Learning at Commencement 2023

    In a ceremony celebrating academic excellence, determination, faculty and alumni mentorship, and the lasting impact of a liberal arts education, more than 550 St. Lawrence University graduates took part in the University’s Commencement ceremony held on Sunday, May 21 in Newell Fieldhouse.

    Class of 2023 Recognizes Faculty and Staff at Last Lecture

    Members of St. Lawrence’s Class of 2023 nominated and selected Jeff Frank, associate professor of education and director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Assessment, to receive the 2023 Owen D. Young Outstanding Faculty Award and Dining Services employee Penny Vallance to receive the Kathleen Buckley Outstanding Staff Member Award.

    Honor Society Induction Ceremony Celebrates First-Generation Scholars

    Forty-six students, 16 faculty and staff, and two alumni became members of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha), the national honor society recognizing first-generation students for academic excellence, at an April 28 induction ceremony. St. Lawrence established the Eta Nu chapter of Tri-Alpha this year to strengthen its commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes of first-generation college students.

    Festival of Science, Scholarship, and Creativity 2023

    From examining global human rights issues and analyzing Adirondack waterways to utilizing 3-D printers, writing fantasy fiction, and showcasing their talents on stage, students' curiosity and creativity were on display at the Festival of Science, Scholarship, and Creativity held on Friday, April 28.

    St. Lawrence Announces Commencement Speakers and Honorees

    In recognition of their exemplary accomplishments and steadfast commitment to St. Lawrence University and the North Country community Gina Kingsbury ’04 and Andrew Williams will be honored during this year’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 21. Professor Ana Estevez will address the Class of 2023.

    Five Alumni to Receive 2023 Awards from Alumni Executive Council

    St. Lawrence University’s Alumni Executive Council has announced that William W. Dennett '68, M'74, Jeremy T. Smith '73 and Erica Silver Dahl '93 will receive Alumni Citations for their dedication and service to the Laurentian Community, while Christopher L. Bunting ’93 and Francis Chachu Ganya ’96 will receive the Sol Feinstone Award for Humanitarian Service.

    St. Lawrence Named a 2023 Best Value College by The Princeton Review

    Students seeking a great education with excellent career preparation and return on investment will find St. Lawrence University among a select group named to The Princeton Review’s list of “Best Value Colleges” for 2023. The popular rankings publication narrowed down the list to 209 institutions from a total of over 650 surveyed.
