Gifts made online before 11:59 p.m. on 12/31/24 will receive a 2024 tax receipt. All checks must be postmarked by December 31, 2024, to be credited as a charitable gift in the 2024 tax year. Charitable Rollover with IRA's QCD
Laurentians who are 70 ½ years of age and older can make an immediate, tax-free gift (up to $105,000 per individual). The qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from an IRA can help meet the donor’s required minimum distribution (RMD) and remains a great way to make tax advantageous contributions to St. Lawrence, especially if you don’t itemize your deductions. These gifts can be directed to the St. Lawrence Fund, an endowed fund, or other University priorities. Learn more or call us for more information.
Appreciated Securities
By donating appreciated stocks, bonds, and mutual funds you avoid paying capital gains tax on the transfer, the University receives full current value of stock, and you can qualify for a charitable income tax deduction. Please notify St. Lawrence before transferring stock for timely acknowledgment. Learn more or call us for more information.
Donor Advised Funds
DAFs are becoming an increasingly popular way to make a charitable gift. DAFs can provide you with immediate tax benefits while making your charitable giving easier. Make an outright gift by suggesting a grant from your DAF to SLU.
Wire Instructions
To make a wire transfer, please email Phil Mitchell at pmitchell@stlawu.edu for more information.
Planned Gifts
An estate gift is way to make a meaningful commitment at no cost which leaves a lasting legacy for future Laurentians. It can be as simple as making a bequest through your will or trust, naming St. Lawrence as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance, or making a tax deductible contribution which provides life income.
